Local MP Jesse Norman who backed Theresa may in the campaign to become leader of the Conservative party has been appointed as the business minister in her new government.

The MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire tweeted that he is sorry to be leaving his position as Chair of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee but is delighted that he has been appointed minister for the newly formed Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

He tweeted;

Very sad to be leaving @CommonsCMS, but honoured and delighted that I have been appointed as a Minister at the new DBEIS.
