Governors, staff, parents and pupils at Ashfield Park Primary School have welcomed Andrew Best as their new Headteacher. Mr Best was previously Headteacher of Llangrove.
Mr Best said: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to begin my time as Headteacher of Ashfield Park Primary School and lead the future improvement and development of the school."
Ashfield Park can now accept children to the Nursery in the term after their third birthday. The Nursery, which was graded as Outstanding by Ofsted, is able to take children for five mornings or five afternoons a week. The Foundation Stage sets the ground for early years education.
The school is now in the top 25% of schools for the progress pupils make from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 and it ranks very highly compared to other Herefordshire Schools.
One of the main events this term is going to be a whole school trip to Bristol Zoo to introduce the topic of India. Miss Taylor, the Deputy Head is currently visiting India and Ashfield may link with schools there.
