Following the arrival of its first new resident at the start of April, Ross-on-Wye Mayor, Harry Bramer, has officially opened the show home at Ariconium Place, in Weston under Penyard. This is the latest development by house builder, Freeman Homes.

The development will bring 28 modern homes to the market. It aims to offer seven new affordable homes, which have been released into the care of Wyedean Housing. This affordable housing will be available under the government’s shared ownership scheme.

Councillor Bramer cut the ribbon on the Ariconium Place show home to officially launch the site, which will now be open to public visitors. He said: “I am delighted to see the building of new homes to fulfil the needs of our growing rural communities and providing affordable homes for local people.’’

Freeman Homes liaised closely with the planning office to ensure that the development not only met the planning requirements, but that it also safeguarded the traditional Herefordshire aesthetic of the village.  Luke Freeman, Joint Chief Executive, said:  “While it was important to us to build high-quality, modern homes that would attract new people to the area, it was equally important that the local community felt that the development fitted in with the look and feel of Weston under Penyard.  We are really pleased to have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both our customers and existing residents of the village, as well as the planning office.”
