On a cold, bright morning, Wynne Pearson the new lady captain of Ross Golf Club was escorted to the first tee by the men's captain, Dave Griffiths, through a guard of honour of lady members holding balloons.

She then teed off, and, although all eyes were upon her, she produced a super shot, straight up the first fairway. This was then measured by one of the hard-working team of green staff.

The day had begun with all the lady members enjoying a Champagne breakfast. They also purchased numbered ballot tickets, the winning ticket was the one having the correct distance that Wynne had driven the ball.

All proceeds will go to Wynne's chosen charities which this year will be Headway and The Megan Baker House.
