The former mill building in Brookend Street, Ross-on-Wye, which has been a furniture showroom and an art gallery, is now set to become the new permanent base for EnviroAbility.

The Old Mill has been purchased by a new local charity, Old Mill Charity Hub and will be rented to EnvroAbility for a peppercorn rent.

The building is in need of a lot of restoration and refurbishment as sadly the previous work to turn the building into a restaurant was started but not completed. However work is already underway on making the roof watertight ,and the building ready to house the second-hand retail outlet and provide a base for all the charity’s different projects.

EnviroAbility is aiming to be in its new home, and open for business, before the end of the year.

Antony Lowther, Chairman of EnviroAbility, told the Ross Gazette:?“The new management team has been successfully running EnviroAbility for two years and with a new permanent home we now have the opportunity to expand the projects and services that we offer.”

EnviroAbility is a local charity and not-for-profit company whose primary objective is to provide and promote projects which benefit disadvantaged groups of people, the community and the environment.

Antony added:?“When we open the doors at the Old Mill later this year we will look forward to welcoming Parents and Carers and the people who they support so they can see the extended opportunities we have to offer here in Ross."

As always EnviroAbility is looking for volunteers to help run the projects and if anyone would like to join in and be part of the team at EnviroAbility, or for more information please call Paula at the office on
