Children’s charity Mentor Link is now offering a one to one mentoring service to young people in Herefordshire.
The charity has recently successfully secured a contract from the Careers and Enterprise Company to set up the new service across the county, which will provide support to pupils in school years 8, 9 and 10.
The service will support young people who may be facing social and emotional difficulties and aims to improve their self-esteem and engagement in learning.
The charity is now professionally recruiting and training volunteer mentors to provide the service to young people each week.
Mentor Link is also welcoming enquiries from the community, schools, parents, governors and potential volunteers.
As one teacher, whose pupils have used the service, commented: “Mentor Link has been a really valuable addition to provision in our school. The volunteer mentors have given their mentees a time and space to be valued and heard. This can make such a difference. The service is professional and well organised.”
