Children living in Walford, or visiting the Village Hall will have some brand new equipment to play on.
The new play area was formally opened by Paul Newman, the Kerne Bridge Ward Councillor on Saturday, May 13th, at the Walford Play Group May Fayre.
Councillor Newman said: “This is a fantastic resource for local children and all credit goes to local people, businesses, the Village Hall Committee and the Parish Council working together to make this wonderful thing happen.”
The idea to provide play equipment in Walford was originally conceived some years ago but finally, with help and support from various local businesses, it has come to fruition.
The Village Hall Committee is very grateful to E C Drummond & Son, Cobrey Farms, Walford Timber, M F Freeman, Walford Parish Council, Walford Parish Residents’ Association and various other private donors for their help in making this project a reality.
