Ross Chess Centre is a newly-formed venture which will meet every Thursday at the local Conservative Club, from 7pm until 9.30pm. Admission is £2.
The man behind the idea is Andrew Norledge, a new resident to the local community, who has strong connections to Ross, and felt it would be an ideal place for anybody to come and play chess and benefit socially and mentally.
The centre has eight boards of tournament size, three clocks, and will have access to a bar, which is for the players’ use.
The aim of the centre is to form a strong bond within the community, eventually becoming a member’s club, with local matches taking place regularly.
If you enjoy playing contact chess, you will be made very welcome.
