Welsh Water have been working this morning, Wednesday, May 25th to repair a burst sewer main and sinkhole in Brampton Road and hope to complete the work today.
Ross-on-Wye residents first noticed a new sinkhole in Brampton Road, near to Brampton Abbotts School on Monday afternoon, May 23rd. They contacted Herefordshire Council who have also contacted Welsh Water.
The residents reported that the new hole is deep, and very much wider under the road surface. It is further up the road from large holes which have been filled in recently.
Welsh Water told the Ross Gazette that there had been reports of a burst on their sewer main in Brampton Road, Herefordshire.
They said: A team is on site working on the repair and we anticipate this should be completed tomorrow (May 25th).
"Following the burst, a small excavation appeared in the ground, which can happen in these situations. Our team will also repair this before leaving the site.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused while we are working."
