The latest cat to be in need of a new start at the Ross Gazette’s Charity of the Year, New Start Cat Rescue is Popsie. She is an older cat, at 12-years-old, but she is waiting at the centre in Huntley for a new family to give her a new home.

Popsie is a very independent girl but is super friendly when she gets to know you. She does have minor health issues that don’t cause her any problems, she leads a normal healthy life.

She loves sunbathing and as she can be unsure about other animals and would suit sensible, older children or an adult-only home.

Every year the Ross Gazette chooses a charity to support and this year it is New Start Cat Rescue. The charity was started by a group of like-minded people who believe that every cat and kitten deserves a loving home. Although based in Huntley, they cover a wide area and several foster carers are based in Ross-on-Wye.

New Start Cat Rescue relies on donations, whether financial or items such as blankets, towels, wet or dry cat food. At this time of year cages, which can be used for pregnant cats and their kittens, are also needed. The Ross Gazette is a drop off point for any donations people would like to make and they have been arriving on a daily basis to help the charity which cares for unwanted cats and kittens of any age, and where they can, find suitable homes for any that come into their care.
