A SECTION of the B4221 Ross Road in Newent will close later this month while National Grid carries out works.

The closure will affect around 200 metres of the road, from its junction with Glebe Close to outside number eight.

The road is expected to be closed or restricted from 9.30am on Tuesday, October 27 until 3pm on Thursday, October 29.

No stopping, loading or waiting will be permitted during the works, with an alternative route set to be signposted for motorists.

Pedestrian access to properties on or next to the affected stretch will be maintained throughout, along with access for emergency services.

Newent Town Council advised residents that the closure could remain in place longer if the work is not completed as scheduled.
