A Ross man accused of committing several crimes in Hereford during the summer has been been given a three months suspended prison service.

Thirty-eight-year-old Robert Jason Ward was charged with damaging a wooden fence in June, of assaulting a man in July, and of stealing two bottles of sherry on separate occasions in August. Having been arrested and released on police bail on August 29th, Ward failed to turn up to a court scheduled for September 8th.

He pleaded guilty to all offences, and on Monday was sentenced at Hereford Magistrates Court to one month in prison for the assault and two months for the thefts, all suspended for 12 months.
