A local photographer, Jack Sargent, sent in this wonderful photograph of the Northern Lights over Ross-on-Wye. Jack took the photo from Symonds Yat Rock recently.

The northern lights, otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon resulting in an assortment of colours, patterns and lights caused by the different effects of space weather on Earth. Spectacular red and green lights of the Aurora Borealis lit up skies as far south as Herefordshire earlier this month, the result of a strong magnetic storm.
