Haygrove in Newent, as well as Hopes Ash Farms in Hope Mansell, and Weir End Farm in Ross-on-Wye will be welcoming the public on Sunday, June 10th, as part of the nationwide Open Farm Sunday event.
Visitors of all ages are welcome, with activities for children, such as bouncy castles, face painting and tractor and trailer rides all on offer.
It is a great day out for the whole family and provides a fantastic opportunity to find out more about how farmers produce food and care for the countryside.
At Haygrove, visitors will have a chance to learn all about how they grow their delicious strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and cherries.
The third generation of the Davison family, who own the farm, will be providing smoothies, fruit and their own ‘Sixteen Ridges’ wine and ‘Once Upon a Tree’ cider on the day.
During a visit to Hopes Ash Farm you will be able to meet the dairy cows and watch them being milked by robots. There will be machinery to see, cider to taste and a sheep shearing demonstration.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the farm’s many wildlife areas on the farm trail.
Entry to Open Farm Sunday is free of charge and more information about all the farms opening, and their opening times, can be found on https://farmsunday.org
