Two Ross-on-Wye groups are celebrating awards this week, Bridstow Girlguiding and Wyedean Canoe Club are celebrating the presentation of a new Inclusive Award.

The Award recognises a commitment across an organisation to welcome both disabled and non-disabled participants. Both groups have shown through practice, discussion and attending training that they actively seek to be inclusive.

Their awards will be presented at the Venue in Ross on Saturday, November 16th.

The Inclusive Award is run in Herefordshire by the Allinteractive project at Marches Family Network and overseen by Gloucestershire-based organisation Active Impact. Allinteractive is funded by Herefordshire Council.

Before the presentation a fun inclusive dance session will take place for disabled and non-disabled children (aged eight -18) from 2.00pm-3.45pm at The Venue.

The session is free of charge and will be led by Michele Holder of Dancefest and attended by young disabled people from Marches Family Network. Other local children are welcome to take part as well – contact Angela Martin at [email protected] or book a place through the Marches Family Network office on 01568 614908.
