Maybe you were a member of the audience that found the concert in St Mary’s Church, of Handel’s Messiah, a thrilling experience earlier this year. Perhaps you spotted people you know among the choir, singing their hearts out.

Did you think, ‘Well if he/she enjoys making music so much, why shouldn’t I?’ Now is your chance.

Fenny Smith, secretary of Ross Choral Society, said that everyone is warmly invited to the Open Rehearsal evening on Thursday, September 13th at 7:30pm. She said: “It’s your chance to find out if this could be for you. Whatever level your voice is comfortable with, you’re very welcome to try it out. You don’t have to be a brilliant sight-reader to belong, but it is important that you can sing in tune and have a fair sense of rhythm.

We’re all learning and growing in our ability to listen while we sing. Adrian Taylor, our disarmingly enthusiastic Conductor, helps us find the right notes and gradually to bring out the music in what we’re singing.”

Rehearsals are weekly during term time on Thursdays, 7:30 to 9:30pm, in Brampton Abbotts Primary School, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 7FX (at the top of Brampton Road, before the bridge towards Greytree). For more details please contact our Chairman on 01594 833576.
