There will be overnight road closures in place along the A40 near Ross from Monday, June 10th to allow resurfacing work to take place. The westbound carriageway of the road is to be resurfaced between the A50 Travellers Rest roundabout and the A4137.
The work, which is expected to take about three weeks, will be carried out overnight, Mondays to Fridays, and also involves replacing road markings and traffic detector loops.
During the work the westbound carriageway will be closed for 16 nights, from 8pm to 6am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place.
Marshalls will be on hand to manage safe access to properties and businesses throughout the work.
Six laybys along the five-and-a-half mile section will be closed 24 hours a day.
Highways Agency Project Sponsor Purnima Kaul said: "Once this work is complete it will result in a safer, smoother road surface for drivers."The work has been planned carefully and will take place overnight to minimise disruption for road users. During the closures we advise road users to allow extra time for their journeys and to familiarise themselves with the diversion routes."
