Councillor Phil Cutter is delighted that the ownership of the dilapidated wall on Gloucester Road has been established. He said that the wall, adjacent to one of the busiest pavements in Ross-on-Wye, is in the ownership of Western Power and they have agreed, in principle to do the remedial work to the wall.
Cllr Cutter told the Ross Gazette that he is very grateful to all the members of the public who have shown so much interest in the matter. He said that it had to be dealt with by the officers of the County Council who had established and confirmed the ownership.
Mrs Joyce Thomas, who has also been trying to establish the details of ownership as she has been very concerned about the safety of the wall said: “I am really delighted that this has been resolved, it has been going on for nearly two years and I am very grateful to everyone who has shown concern, and to the Ross Gazette for following it through.”
Building Control at Herefordshire Council will now establish a time frame for the work to be done.
