MADAM, I would like to thank the Association of Ross Traders for organising the pancake races.
We walked down from Brampton Abbotts School and were really enjoying watching the races when the commentator asked if anyone wanted to enter for the children's races. My two girls Samantha (5) and Becky (4) were very keen to give it a go but we weren't prepared, we didn't have any frying pans!
But the organisers had thought of everything, and we were assured we could borrow two when the time came.
When the girls' names were called, there was a shortage of pans to borrow but a lovely lady and gentleman stepped in, and offered the girls their pans. (Which we later returned, with thanks).
Sam got through to the final after coming second in her heat which was watched by Grandma, Granddad and Nan. What a great afternoon!
We can't wait for next year, and yes we will be better prepared.
