PARENTS collecting their children from Ashfield Park School on Friday,
March 20th, were concerned when they were given a letter warning them
about a man who had approached some children. Detective Inspector Martyn Barnes of Hereford CID told The Ross Gazette: "We have had a report that some children were approached by a man this morning in Ross, in the Cantilupe Road - Gloucester Road area. The children were not harmed.
"As they are of a young age and it occurred while their parent had left
them for a brief moment, it is taking time for us to try and discover the
exact nature of what has happened. "However, we treat any such report with great concern and we have a team of detectives working on the case. We are not linking this incident to any others in the area or the region. "As a safety precaution we have been in touch with schools and nurseries in the area and we would advise parents and guardians to be vigilant in the coming days. To reassure local residents, there will be increased high-visibility patrols by our uniformed officers in the area it occurred. "I would like to hear from anyone who has seen a man acting suspiciously in the Cantilupe Road and Gloucester Road area between 8.30am and 9am on Friday. He may have been dressed in black, possibly in black overalls or a black tracksuit."
