At the Annual General Meeting of the Ross Rural Parish Council held in May, Patrick Hughes was elected Chairman for the forthcoming year.

At the same meeting, outgoing Chairman James Weatherhead also stood down from the Council after 16 years of service.  Patrick was first elected to the Council in 2004 and has shown a keen interest in local affairs, representing the Council on a number of different local interest groups and organisations.

Originally from the Black Country, Patrick moved to Ross in 1999 in connection with his job as a management consultant. Nigel Gibbs was elected as vice-chairman for the same term.
