Madam, Those who drive along the Walford Road to work, school, the shops or beyond should be aware that an application to demolish a house and build 14 flats with 22 parking spaces at Penrice, Walford Road, near to the Chasedale Hotel, is before the Herefordshire Planning Committee.

There are 17 properties between Roman Way and Palmerston Road, a distance of 200m all fronting the Walford Road. Side roads entering this area are Ashfield Crescent, Palmerston Road, Eastfield Road, Fernbank Road and Roman Way. Proposed access to the flats will be on a blind bend on the Walford Road from the South.

The extra volume of cars coming out of this new entrance will impact on the current traffic flow and will affect all who drive along the Walford Road. Visitors to the flats may have to park on the road.

Plans can be seen at Swan House Ross or on http://www.ukplanning.co.uk">www.ukplanning.co.uk. The application form and consultees can be viewed on http://www.herefordshire.gov.uk">www.herefordshire.gov.uk, search for SE100399/F.

I understand the developers M F Freeman, Drybrook, will be advertising an open exhibition where a 3D model will be on show.

If you feel you will be adversely affected by this proposal, write to:-

Andrew Ashcroft, Head of Planning and Transportation or Mr E Thomas, Planning Officer, who is dealing with the application, at Planning Services, Herefordshire Council, PO Box 230, Hereford HR1 2ZB quoting DMSE/100399/F, before April 2nd.

J Hayes,

Walford Road,

Ross
