MADAM, Why do we in this country allow unelected, overpaid, tree hugging, green obsessed quango's like Natural England to disrupt and add cost to our daily lives by threatening prosecution for disturbing a few badgers (which will probably be culled later} in order to repair a vital road link to Kings Caple.

Had it not been for the voice of the villagers, the bureaucrats of Hereford Council would have meekly rolled over and left this vital link completely closed (as Natural England wanted) until August. As it is, with pressure from villagers and the local Councillor Barry Durkin it has been agreed to temporarily cover the offending site with steel plates to allow restricted light traffic to cross.

This does nothing for the road into the village from How Caple which has already been reduced to a cart track by the negligence of Hereford Council and will now have to carry all heavy traffic to our village. This will of course not help our bus service which uses this route on it's twice weekly operation.

Would this situation be allowed to disrupt Downing Street? One further question! Councillor Cutter suggested that if we do not like Polytunnells we could always leave the village so perhaps he will now tell us how.
