The Team at the Yewtree at Peterstow are celebrating picking up the award for CAMRA’s Cider Pub of the Year for Herefordshire.

Albert Johnson, of the Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry Co, told the Ross Gazette: “It means a lot to see the hard work of all of our team recognised - because you can’t win best Cider Pub just for your cider, it has to be an all round experience. We have fantastic bar staff who put their time, passion and energy into the role and we so grateful to them for that.

“We have a superb kitchen team who produce not just amazing lunchtime meals, and food on Thursday and Friday nights, but also produce buffets for our darts team’s matches, our quiz night and our Cider Club.”

Most people know that Herefordshire is the capital for cider production globally, what began with the Bulmers’ brothers in the 1890s has continued today. Last year Hereford CAMRA’s flagship event, the annual Beer on the Wye festival featured cider from about 50 different Herefordshire producers.
