On Saturday, April 28th, St. Bridget’s Church at Bridstow was packed for a concert performed by the Phoenix Singers. Everyone enjoyed a varied programme of songs, poems and sketches, with a special appearance by Elvis Presley.

The choir was accompanied by Richard Watson at the organ and conducted by Mary Brigg. Their polished performance reflected the time and effort spent in rehearsing and perfecting their presentation.

Refreshments provided by members of St. Bridget’s congregation were delicious and served during the interval. A raffle was also held, helping to boost the overall amount raised to £1251.90, which will be divided equally between Church Funds and Marie Curie Nursing Care.

The evening concluded with a rousing rendition of ‘Jerusalem’ - sung by the choir and audience; a fitting end to a very happy evening.
