Documentary photographer Jason Larkin has travelled all over the world. His latest project, however, is a little bit closer to home. As last year winner of the 'Open Here' grant at the international Hereford Photography Festival, he is using his award to work on a photographic project based in Herefordshire that will be exhibited exclusively at this year's festival in Hereford Cathedral.
Jason is looking for volunteers to take part in his project. Have you changed job, either through force or by choice? Then he would like to hear from you. From these meetings he will produce a series of portraits.
As well as individual stories Larkin is also documenting business premises throughout the county that have made a transition in their lifetime such as the ubiquitous red telephone box now being used a book exchange.
This work aims to provide a voice to local residents and a lasting document to Hereford's unique legacy. Jason Larkin is an internationally recognized, award winning, documentary photographer. Having worked throughout the Middle East and Africa over the last three years for publications like the Financial Times, New York Times and The Guardian, he has now returned to the UK to work on this important project.
