Despite Herefordshire Council’s planning officers recommending that planning permission be given to an application for up to 10 new residential properties at Castle End, Lea, Ross-on-Wye, it was rejected by the committee.
The applicant had appealed against non-determination, which means that the jurisdiction for making a decision on the proposal rests now with the Planning Inspectorate.
The committee were concerned about highway safety, especially in light of other recent planning decisions.
The Council will now inform the Planning Inspector if there had not been an appeal it would have been minded to refuse the application.
