New housing developments have been planned for Ross-on-Wye, as set out in the Neighbourhood Development Plan.
The allocated sites for development include Cleeve Field, Merrivale Lane, Stoney Stile and The Ryefield Centre.
The Ryefield Centre has been allocated with a potential re-use with an order for 10-12 homes.
Cleeve Field will have a maximum of 20 houses, while Merrivale Lane could have between 20 and 25, and Stoney Stile has an allocation of 15 houses.
The land East of the A40, of which a large part is Council owned and under strategic review, is also included.
New development proposals to the east of the A40 are to be considered and advanced through a single plan. Planners also hope to break down the ‘barrier’ effect of the A40, and deal positively with the landscape impacts.
Melvin Reynolds, Chair of the Neighbourhood Development Plan, said: “We want to create a clear, landscaped boundary and include design codes drawing from the character of Ross-on-Wye.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
