Following concerns raised locally that a proposal for new housing in the grounds of Orles Barn Hotel at Ross-on-Wye, the Ross Gazette has been assured that the hotel is not due for demolition.
A Herefordshire Council spokesperson said: “Herefordshire Council advised against and rejected a scheme at pre-application stage to demolish Orles Barn as it is considered an important heritage asset. Permission exists to develop land at the rear of the property for a small housing development, and an identical application for housing has been submitted to effectively extend the duration of that planning permission.”
