Ross-on-Wye Town Council has objected to the application for a new Lidl store as the planning committee members felt it would be detrimental to the economic viability of the town centre.

They were also concerned about an increase in the volume of traffic and the pressure this would put on the existing road network.

The proposal is for a hybrid planning application which includes an application for full planning permission for the demolition of the existing Wolf Business Park buildings and the erection of a new Lidl food store.

The decision is expected to be made at the beginning of October, the application number for anyone wishing to comment is P182387/O.
