An empty shop on Millpond Street in Ross-on-Wye, could become a ‘Micro Pub’ after a planning application was lodged with Herefordshire Council recently.

The Vine Tap Limited, from Ledbury, proposes to change the use of the single storey A1 premises to an A4 Micro Pub, with opening times of midday till 11pm, Monday to Sunday.

Vine Tap Ltd stated that: “The concept of a ’Micro Pub’ is a quiet drinking area for mature singles and couples with no music, fruit machines or other electronic devices.

“Real ale will be served from traditional hand pumps with lager, spirits and wine also served.”

The property was previously a licensed premises known as the Tap House and formed part of the Alton Court Brewery which closed in 1956 and was demolished in 1992.

More recently, the premises were used by Terry’s Digital as an electronic repair shop.
