We may have been enjoying some of the hottest weather of the year recently but the Events Committee at Ross Town Council have their sights set on celebrating Christmas.

The date for this year’s Christmas Fayre has been set for Sunday, November 20th, between 11am - 5pm. Councillor Hannah Lerego, chairman of the Events Committee is delighted that The Royal Hotel has very kindly offered to host Father Christmas and his Grotto in the Buckingham Suite from 12pm till 3:45pm. Reindeer, Comet and Blitzen will be on High Street 12pm-2pm for everyone to see and Father Christmas and his elves will turn the lights on at 4pm at the Market House. The Events Committee is also grateful that the Phoenix Theatre has offered their car park to house charity stalls too.

Community spirit, as ever, is alive and well in Ross Town and the Committee is looking for volunteers to help on the day or with preparations. Please email [email protected] or call Cllr Lerego on 01989 762164.

The event was a big success last year, raising £973 for St Michael’s Hospice, and the members of the Committee want the Fayre to be just as popular this year, but it needs your help.  If you can spare any time to offer support or volunteer on the day, please let them know. For more information find them on Facebook at ‘Ross Christmas Fayre’.
