Following the successful Open Gardens in 2015, the Friends of St Mary’s Church in Ross-on-Wye are organising the event again this year, on Saturday, June 24th and Sunday, June 25th. Over 800 people visited the 21 gardens in 2015, in a friendly and relaxed community event.
About half of the gardens which took part in 2015 will be open again, and so far five new gardens have been added. A few more gardens are needed to make the event a real success, and the Friends are keen to hear from any garden owners who would be willing to open for the two days.
They do not need to be horticulturally perfect, weed free spaces, but gardens of any size, whose owners would be happy to share the enjoyment of their space with visitors over a couple of days. The verdict of 2015’s garden owners was: “The reactions of all our visitors made the extra work of preparation worthwhile.” If you join in, you too can enjoy that reaction.
Peter Reynolds on 01989 564830 is leading the team organising the event, and would be delighted to hear from garden owners wishing to join in.
