Planners held a public exhibition at the Larruperz Centre last week to exhibit plans for a proposed development on land to the east of the A40 bypass.

While no planning application has currently been submitted to Herefordshire Council, the plans illustrated the concept behind the development. The proposal comprises the building of up to 290 houses including up to 35% affordable housing and the provision of public open space, access and other associated works.

The site is located adjacent to Ross-on-Wye and Overross Industrial estate, to the north of Rudhall Brook.

The scheme will include a variety of house sizes and types and include areas of public open space.

Planners say that a comprehensive Transport Assessment will be prepared to assesse the traffic generated from the proposed development for up to around 300 residential units on the existing strategic and local highway networks.

At this stage, the primary access to the site is proposed at the roundabout junction arrangement that is currently under construction to serve the consented Chase Wood View development. A secondary emergency access point is also proposed at the A40 between the primary access point and the A40 / A449 (T) roundabout junction to the north.
