In three weeks, plant lovers from Herefordshire and beyond will flock to St Michael’s Hospice.

For two days, on May 4th and 5th, a wide range of greenery, from bedding plants and annuals to trees and shrubs, all grown by professional and amateur gardeners, will be sold.

Few of the growers though will be quite as young, or keen, as five-year-old Naomi Jones. She has spent the past few weeks growing plants and flowers for the Fair which is held at the Hospice in Bartestree.

A number of schools around the county are helping out by growing plants and flowers for the Fair, while a number of exhibitors are also set to attend.

‘It’s wonderful to see the enthusiasm shown by Naomi,’ said Gaynor Warren, Plant Fair Co-ordinator.

‘Despite her tender age, she is a great example that you can never be too young to experience the joy of nurturing your own plants and flowers.

‘We would like to thank her for her support, and look forward to welcoming her to St Michael’s for the Plant Fair.’

Admission to the Fair is free. For more details visit st-michaels-hospice.org.uk
