“We are completely overwhelmed—in the best possible way, after the award was announced. To be recognised on this scale so soon is incredible.
“But what truly moves us is the love we’ve received from Ross and the entire Herefordshire community. They’ve embraced us, supported us, and helped shine a spotlight on something we’re so passionate about.”
The competition judges said of Plates and Shakers that it is a true gem redefining the cocktail experience and added: “From their warm, family-style welcome to a stunning vintage-inspired setting, this bar is all about making guests feel right at home.
“Their creative cocktails, cleverly hidden inside books, are both playful and masterfully crafted, with standouts like the ‘Vacation Baby’ leaving a lasting impression.
“Paired with award-worthy tapas and flawless hospitality, Plates and Shakers offers an unforgettable experience worthy of this prestigious award.”

At the heart of the bar Milka can be seen creating her signature cocktails by fusing artistry with Mediterranean soul, which have quickly earned regional acclaim, turning first-time guests into lifelong fans.
On the culinary side, Plates & Shakers delights with a vibrant selection of tapas, blending the bold, sunny flavours of Greece and Spain.
Behind every perfectly seared prawn and every lovingly prepared mezze plate is the work of executive chef and co-owner George Kotsias and the exceptional talent of head chef Marcin Mironski, whose skill, precision, and creativity have shaped the kitchen into a place of constant innovation who is assisted by Karolina Dolatowska.
“This isn’t just our win, it’s a win for our entire team, and for the people who made all this possible,” said George.
“Chef Marcin has helped bring our culinary vision to life in ways that continue to surprise and inspire. And together with Milka and our front-of-house team, we’ve built something we’re truly proud of.”
Milka added: “We started with a dream and a lot of heart, and for Plates & Shakers to earn the title of Best Cocktail Bar is a testament to what’s possible when creativity meets community.
“But it’s the people, our guests, neighbours, and loyal supporters, who’ve turned it into something real. This award belongs to all of you.”
