Romance was in the air, when Stan and Mary met at a dance in London, and more than seventy years on, still very much in love, they celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday, July 22nd.
Stan Lance is now 94, and Mary is 92, they were married at St Leonard's Church, Heston, and lived in London, both working in the fire service at the outbreak of World War II. Later on they moved to Birmingham where Stan continued in the fire service, Mary had given up work at the birth of their son Alan.
