Councillor Chris Bartrum has contacted Herefordshire Council planning enforcement officers to ask what they intend to do regarding the construction of a footpath and cycleway which was a condition of the Persimmon housing development in Ross-on-Wye.

When Persimmon Homes were granted permission for their development in 2008, one of the conditions was to provide a footpath through the former laundry site as a means of providing a way for the new residents from the housing development to get to John Kyrle High School.

Persimmon later applied to vary the condition so that the footpath ran alongside Tanyard Lane and then out, onto Ledbury Road.

This was refused by Herefordshire Council and then Persimmon applied to put a footpath through Arundel Close. This alternative route was also refused by Herefordshire Council, on October 14th, 2019.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
