Last week, the Ross Gazette reported that the New Start Cat Rescue Charity, based in Newent, were appealing for donations to help care for some tiny kittens who were in danger of going blind.
When the kittens were first brought into the centre, they were in a really bad state. Three were very tiny, as they couldn’t see anything, they had not been able to find their Mum to feed from her.
The volunteers found that the kittens had all been weakened from the lack of food or care, and this had made them susceptible to infection.
The vet bills and medicine for the kittens come at a high financial cost to the charity, but the volunteers are determined to help them get better, and to find them loving homes when they are ready.
On their Facebook page, the volunteers at the New Start Cat Rescue shared an update with regards to the kittens’ progress.
The two kittens pictured have each lost one eye, but thanks to the donations that people have contributed, the charity’s volunteers are able to purchase the best eyecreams available and antibiotics, to ensure they receive the highest level of care.
In the update, it was stated:?“All the eyes are looking better. Some still have a nasty haze over them but we are going in the right direction. We now have naughty playful kittens. [sic]”
