There was plenty for everyone to do in Ross-on-Wye during the Bank Holiday Weekend.
The two-day Smile Fest brought many people together through their love for rugby, live music and in memory of a very special young man, Oliver Floyd.
Oliver’s family are delighted that his friends have set up Smile Fest as a way to keep his memory alive.
Oliver, know as Ollie, was a very popular member of Ross Rugby Club but after his death it became clear how many people cared about him, and his family.
Smile Fest was held for the first time last year, and was such a success that it developed into a two-day event this year, on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th at Ross Rugby Club in Greytree. The festival included a memorial rugby game on Sunday between Ross Rugby XV and Forest Rugby XV, Ollie played for both these teams.
Also taking place in Ross-on-Wye over the Bank Holiday weekend was the annual Ross Regatta.
This traditional event draws crowds of rowers from clubs all over the country but this year many local residents also took advantage of the lovely weather on Monday to join the fun.
There are lots of pictures in the paper this week and also click on View & Buy Photos on the website to see all the pictures taken at local events by the Ross Gazette.
