POLICE responding to reports of a domestic dispute in Ross on Friday evening, found a man with serious head injuries. Police later siezed an air weapon.

A man in his 30s and a 17 year old youth, who were known to each other, had been involved in an altercation in Verschoyle Gardens at around 8.30pm on September 30th. The youth was later arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent, while the man was taken to Hereford County Hospital and then on to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for treatment for a serious but not life-threatening head injury caused by a pellet.

Concerned residents at Vershoyle Gardens told the Gazette that it is: "getting like Dodge City up here. There is something happening everynight. And it's getting worse."

One lady said:?"Its very hard for the decent people who live here, especially those who are trying to bring up children with things like this going on."

Police Officers are continuing their investigations and the youth has been released on bail pending inquiries. Any witnesses are asked to contact PC Shirley Peters at Ross Police Station or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0300 33303000.
