A Community Support Officer was able to foil the theft of a coin box from a public telephone box in Ross last Friday and three men were later arrested.

The incident happened at 2.30pm on Friday, March 5th when thieves tried to drill the phone box equipment in an attempt to release the coin box. They were unsuccessful and made off when spotted by the Community Support Officer.

Police arrested three men in a vehicle on the M5 motorway after the vehicle they were travelling in was seen to have left the scene of the attempted theft in Ross.

The three men are currently on police bail whilst officers make further enquiries into the incident.
