UPDATE: There are three candidates standing in the Ross-on-Wye by-election in the Wast Ward on March 23rd. These include Simeon Cole of Coughton, Ross-on-Wye, who is standing for the Conservative party and Jordan Creed who is standing for It's Our County.
Simeon Cole is a member of Walford Parish Council where he is the Lengthsman Co-ordinator, a Member of the Finance Committee, a Forest Green Representative, a Member of the Neighbourhood Planning Steering Group and the Kerne Bridge Canoe Launch Working Group.
Jordan Creed, who lives in Ross-on-Wye, is the youngest of the three candidates and is well-known for his campaign to protect bus services locally.
Julian Utting is standing for the Lib Dems in the forthcoming by-election in the West Ward of Ross-on-Wye on March 23rd. The husband of Town Councillor Caroline Utting, Julian has lived in the West Ward of Ross since 2000.
Acording to his publicity leaflet he is fighting to keep Ross Community Hospital open, supporting local enterprise and campaigning to improve the condition of roads around Ross, especially Walford Road.The Ross Gazette intends to include interviews with all the candidates as election day approaches.
It will cost the Town Council between £2,500 and £3,000 to hold the election as the Councillors voted against the use of polling cards which would have added to the cost.
