Ross Town Councillors have agreed to support a rota for surgeries to be held at the Library or the Corn Exchange to enable residents to raise their concerns with their representatives.
Councillor Jane Roberts had originally requested that the Councillors support the efforts of individual Town Councillors in re-instating a surgery, after Herefordshire Councillors had not held any since the Elections in May.
Councillor Richard Mayo suggested an amendment to Cllr Robert’s Notice of Motion. As it is a rota for Town Councillors it was agreed that the Town Clerk would administer the rota and individual Councillors will take part when they are able.
Members of the Ross Police Safer Neighbourhood Team will also be attending the surgeries regularly.
If there is no member available on a Saturday morning the Councillors will be able to direct them to any issues raised.
The police are hopeful that this will, in part, fill the gap left when the front counter of the police station was closed. PCSO Paul Davies will attend the surgery on February 20th.
