MP Jesse Norman has told the Ross Gazette that he is ‘delighted’ that Ken Skates, Minister for Economy and Transport at the Welsh Government has written giving support to a new passenger rail station at Pontrilas.

The MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire has been lobbying Ken Skates and Grant Schapps MP, Secretary of State for Transport in support of the local campaign led by Peter Jinman.

Mr Norman said: “I am delighted that Ken has given his backing to the campaign for a new station at Pontrilas, and offered to have Transport for Wales services stop there.  The Government has announced its intention to replace some of the lines lost to the Beeching cuts in the 1960s.  We will be taking the campaign to Westminster to seek ministerial support for this important project.”
