MADAM, Re: May Fayre. It is not acceptable entertainment to use animals. Intellect and sensitivity would convey that it is cruel to travel small animals a distance.
On arrival they were installed in a room with a heavy atmosphere with a few cardboard boxes in which to hide. Nothing was natural and no lesson of humanity or respect was conveyed to the children. A child is not to blame for being delighted. They see a soft, fluffy animal, not pain and fear. When I went in the building all animals were hiding within boxes.
I have cared for rabbits for over 25 years, treating with homeopathy. Like horses, they are flight animals and when they cannot run away, become deeply distressed. They easily die from shock.
