On Saturday, October 27th, the Poppy Appeal was launched in the Market Place.The Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Councillor Harry Bramer, laid the first official cross. This was followed by crosses being laid for every man who lost their life in 1918 from the HR9 area.

This year there will be a Field of Remembrance in St Mary’s Churchyard where all men from the HR9 area who lost their lives in WW1 will have a cross planted.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
