Security officers joined local West Mercia Police Officers to check the streets, including drains and even the Royal British Legion Remembrance planter was throughly checked, as preparations begin in earnest for the Royal visit.
HRH The Prince of Wales is expected to arrive in Ross sometime late morning and will stay for about one hour meeting representatives of local community groups. He will also greet local schoolchildren and be entertained by dancers from Walford School and a Children’s Chorus.
The Prince is visiting the to launch Gilpin 2020, the celebration of the 250th anniversary of British tourism which began in Ross. The Ross Gazette has produced a limited number of special souvenir booklets for the day and there will of course be plenty of pictures in this week’s Ross Gazette.
