If the application for planning permission for the new mosaic, created by EnviroAbility, and depicting the history of Ross, is successful it will be unveiled in its permanent home outside the library, on Saturday, May 22nd.

At the centre of the mosaic is John Kyrle and a special John Kyrle Day is being arranged on his birthday to celebrate his achievements and the contributions he made to Ross.

John Kyrle was born in Dymock in 1637 but is best remembered for his time in Ross-on-Wye and is known as 'the Man of Ross'.

The Ross Gazette has organised a competition in John Kyrle's honour to win £100 for the local charity or organisation of your choice. See the entry details on page 10.
