MADAM, I am writing to say how disappointed I am that there was no mention, or photos of the Ross Army Cadet Force in your carnival section. These young adults marched around the town proudly holding their standard high – no mean feat!

Having spent hours practising to ensure they were in time, they were a credit to their detachment and sector.

Members of the public gave them much applause as they passed by and deservedly so.

I appreciate that the floats are exciting and we all want to know who the winners are, but I think a bit of appreciation to these youngsters (aged between 13 and 16) who worked so hard wouldn't go amiss.

Well done boys and girls we are proud of you and of what you represent, maybe your local paper will support the local Cadet Force on Remembrance Sunday when you again show your respect for others, you set a wonderful example.

Sharon Howard, Ross

Editor's note: There are so many wonderful floats and costumes to photograph and some do get missed. The Cadets did a superb job and looked very smart. The Gazette is curently liaising with Chris Auker-Howlett about the possibility of a feature in a future edition of the Gazette.
